The JEJATC ended National Apprenticeship Week 2026 with a Community Leaders' Drop-in on Friday, May 1. Representatives from the East Arkansas Workforce Development Board, Farmers and Merchants Bank, Northeast Arkansas Career and Technical Center, and State Senator Dan Sullivan visited our facility and learned more about our program and what we have to offer.

The Jonesboro Electrical JATC had a successful High School Preview Day on March 18! Over 55 students and staff attended. First and Third Year apprentices presented a short informative session about the JEJATC and their experiences in the classroom and on their jobs. Hands-on activities at various stations were provided such as conduit bending, medium voltage, transformers and circuitry, and PLC coding and illustration.

Third-year apprentices and instructors participated in a medium voltage training in November provided by 3M, Steve McPherson. Wire provided by Southwire.

IBEW LU 1516 broke ground on a building project in October 2024 to provide the JATC with a new apprenticeship building. The building provides two offices, three classrooms, and a shop area with lab units for students to participate in hands-on learning. The JATC moved into the building in time for the first classes which were held in August 2025.
