qualifications
The Jonesboro Electrical JATC has opportunities for those who are seeking a career as an electrician – inside wireman. We offer on-the-job training and related classroom instruction through our apprenticeship program which is a four-year, 720-hour apprenticeship.
If you are interested in our apprenticeship program, you should meet the following qualifications before applying:
Must be at least 18 years old (birth certificate required)
Must be a high school graduate or have a completed GED
Must have completed one full year of high school algebra with a passing grade or one post-high school algebra course with a passing grade or equivalent
Must provide official transcripts from high school, post-high school, or GED showing courses and grades
Must possess a valid driver's license and have reliable transportation
All applicants meeting the above minimum requirements and providing the required documents will be scheduled for an oral interview. The interviewers will consider reliability, interest, attitude, judgment, and cooperativeness, as well as other personal traits. All applicants will be received without regard to race, creed, color, religion, national origin, handicap, or sex.

Applications for the apprenticeship program are accepted in person year-round through May 28, 2027 at the following location:
9400-2 East Highland Drive Jonesboro, AR 72401
Business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:30AM - 3:30PM
To advance to the interview process, applicants are required to bring the following documents:
1) Driver’s License
2) Social Security Card
3) Transcript from High School showing graduation date or GED showing completion date and courses
4) Birth Certificate
If these documents are not presented during the application process, the applicant will have ten (10) days to produce the documents or the application will be inactive.
If accepted in the Jonesboro JATC apprenticeship program, a passing drug test will be required.
